Use in Soapmaking to harden the soaps and in Candles to harden the wax pillar. Adding Stearic Acid to your candles will help them burn longer. Use at up to 5% in creams and lotions to thicken and bind. In Candles, you can add anything from 5% up to as much as 25% depending on how you desire the finished candle to appear and perform. Stearic Acid is also known as an Stearin.
